How do we work?

How do we work?

To achive the highest standard in Hungarian translations our team had to come up with a lot of novelties. With the hugeness of texts what generally features the Elder Scrolls games it can be very difficult to share the know how among teammates, translate uniformly and to minimize the mis-translations.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 in Hungarian

Divinity: Original Sin 2 in Hungarian

ollowing the previous successful project, we immediately jumped into translating Larian Studio’s critically acclaimed, innovative role-playing game, Divinity: Original Sin 2.

With its more than 6 600 000 characters, it has been our greatest endeavour so far. Despite this, in less than two and a half years, the team, which consists only of volunteers, managed to translate this amount of text.

After had we managed to correct more than a thousand mistakes both in internal and external testing rounds, we proudly released the finished work in August 2022. The translation is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and contains the Hungarian version of every gift bag Larian made available. Moreover, we included a thirteen-page-long tips and tricks collection in the installer.

hile Bethesda was working on the next instalment of The Elder Scrolls series, we, without hesitation, jumped into a whole new world, the universe of Role-playing Game of 2015, Pillars of Eternity. Expanded with many enthusiastic members and optimised our workflow even further, we started translating more than 5,800,000 characters which include both expansion packs of The White March.

This enormous work has been perfected in a record-setting time, compared to ourselves, under two and a half years which also consisted of four iterations of insider and outsider testing during which we fixed many thousands of spelling and grammar mistakes.

ven before the official creation kit would have been appeared, we had been translating Skyrim, the fifth part of the series. Its amount of text wasn't reduced compared to the previous games; we had to translate an enormous and diverse world into Hungarian again. The Team translated the game, including its all dialogues and books, proofread and corrected the translation mistakes in only one and a half year.

Next, the translation of the expansions followed, which after it got completed, we can proudly say the localisation of the whole fifth part, including all of its 6 million 600 hundred characters, is done.

hat else could have been our next challange than translating the following chapter in the Elder Scrolls series: Oblivion? After serious groundwork based on the experiences from our previous project we have successfully translated the game in one year. Devoted to our long standing conventions we did not release work-in-progress versions, only the complete full translation was available to download. We released two test versions and only when the reported bugs got fixed we finished the Hungarian translation of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

The installer did not remain empty this time neither. A lot of elements recurred from Morrowind like the Hungarian guide book, translations of the official plugins (if they were already installed), and a translators' NPC plugin.

nitially the MorroHun Team was created for the sole purpose to translate a role playing game which is among those that contain the most text in the world into Hungarian. This project meant translating far more than 5,000,000 characters - not counting the books present in the game. Such a great amount of text had to be translated, uniformed, corrected by team members who worked in their spare time. We believe our project was a success and we have made one of the best quality Hungarian translations to this day.

On top of this we attached a complete guide book adjusted to our translation, tips&tricks about the game, the Hungarian translation of the eight official plugins, a user-created plugin in which the player can meet the translators in the game, a Hungarian map program, a Hungarian map and the partially translated Construction Set, plus the Hungarian Morrowind fonts.

Later we have created the Hungarian version of the two official expansion packs Tribunal and Bloodmoon thus completing the series.
